root loging not working in HPVM

Hi Guru,

i am not able to login with root in our
one VM(DEV) message showing "Access denied".

if i take hpvmconsole -P from VMHOST, system asking for root login again.

Please advice, how to solve this problem.

Can we use VMHOST machine console and reset the root password of VMGUEST ?

What message you get if login from virtual console of the guest?


However, to reset the password boot the guest in single user mode and use "passwd".

After hpvmconsole, i used CO and it's showing "Live Console" & then "login:"

Is their any way to reset the password without singale users mode ?

hpvmconsole is the only way to get the console of a guest.

you need to use the command

# hpvmconsole -p

to get the console of your guest.
