routing

Im assuming there is sometype of packet filtering / proccessing function to this OS similar to iptables for linux or packet filter for *BSD

does anyone know what the command is or config file depending on how it goes about it and possibly a link to a good refence doc for it??

so far i cant even figure out what HP-UX calls it =-D

I think the software you are looking for is the IPFilter for HP-UX program.
