rp3410-11.23 with IBM-DS4300 interoperability

Has any one having experience on interoperability of rp3410 OS 11iv2 with A6826A FC-HBA and IBM DS4300-dual controller(1722-60U) storage subsytem controller firmware version 06.60.17.00 ?

IBM sales person says DS4300 needs for interoperability with HP-UX license is required.

When i check DS4300, NVSRAM HOST TYPE DEFINITIONS of
HP-UX Enabled Is it So?
it seems IBM person trying to push DS4700 against DS4300 for this interoperability of HP-UX.

Please reply and thanks in advance

Re: rp3410-11.23 with IBM-DS4300 interoperability

Shalom,

Most IBM storage will be detected by HP-UX servers if properly configured via fiber or scsi.

Normally its just a matter of hooking it up, assigning WWN and doing this:

insf -C disk

ioscan

Magic, you see the disk.

The licensing is an IBM issue. They want cash. Most likely no software is required for normal integration.

Hello,

DS4300 was withdrawn from marketing in late 2006, so IBM might be trying to sell you its replacement, which is the DS4700.

However, according to the IBM interoperation tool, your configuration is supported. You have to use PVlinks for multipathing and at least SG 11.16 for clustering.

J.
