Re: rp7410 vpar

A few things to consider:

I/O assignment in a vPar environment is done at LBA level (PCI slot level, more or less).

Do an "ioscan -fn" and read it.

Everything you find below an "lba" entry must belong to a specific vPar.

By default, the internal DVD drive is connected to the core I/O of cell1 and must belong to your first vPar, because of the console device.

Booting from the DVD while other vPars are running must be supported by the vPar software - you need a current version, e.g. A.04.05!

2 easy methods to install:

1) create and install the first vPar and use ignite to install the second

2) install both vPars in standalone mode, create the vPars and boot into vPars mode after this.

See the documents on http://docs.hp.com

Hope this helps!

Torsten.

Re: rp7410 vpar

Let's assume you have 2 sets of boot disks.

Install the OS together with vPars software of the first set.

Now do the same on the second set.

Once this is done, create your 2 vPars using these sets of boot disks and boot into vPars mode.

Hope this helps!
