rsh from unixware 2.1.2 to hpux 11.0 returns nothing

rsh from unixware 2.1.2 to hpux 11.0 returns nothing (no value and no error messages).

It used to work like a charm. I don't understand.

command used by root:
rsh hp74 -l clarify "ls -ltr"

I tried with quotes and without quotes.

on hp74 machine under clarify user's home directory, I had .rhosts as:
unixware_host root sysadmin tsc

I would really appreciate any help. Both are our production systems.

It may be host resolving issue. Add IP address in .rhosts file

unixware_host root sysadmin tsc
root

That's not it. I tried adding the ip address. Still doesn't work. Anything else I could try? Please help.
