running Oracle9-IAS release 2 on cluster
We suffer a lot of problems getting ias to run on serviceguard-cluster. installation is OK but somehow after switching the ias-package it is connecting to the wrong IP-addresses (like 127.0.0.1)
in the oms.log we also see messages connection refused also to the right (package-)IP-address.
servers in the cluster are rp3440, running HP-UX 11.11

Re: running Oracle9-IAS release 2 on cluster
Seeing the log messages is critical to assisting you.
ias is a very complex application and my experience with other releases shows poor quality control on the hp platform. I've seen shell scripts delivered in non-working condition and several errors patched in and out of the application as I patched up.
This does appear to be a networking issue, or a failover ip issue or a configuration file issue or a combination of the above issues.
What I'd suggest is get it working perfectly on a cluster node without failover. Test it heavily and make sure the problem isn't Oracle Quality Assurrance. Then deal with SG/ipfail/networking issues.

Re: running Oracle9-IAS release 2 on cluster
sorry guys, for not providing points till now. The DBA was eventually able to make this IAS-package "switchable" but it was a lot of work and sorting out.
