SAM internal error after added DDS4 DAT tape drive

Hi,

I have installed a DDS4 DAT tape drive into my N-class machnie running HPUX ver 11.00.

When I tried to schedule an automated backup, an message appears during selection of "specify backup device" :

SAM internal error.
The error handler has gotten the error code 1 of type NOTE with the associated strings:
0/0/1/0.1.0

Any advise is appreciated.

Probably the drive you have installed is simply not supported by fbackup.
Using DDS3 media might work.

Re: SAM internal error after added DDS4 DAT tape drive

Check if the DDS4 is insert in file /usr/sam/lib/C/pd_devinfo.tx if not insert following lines (example for a C5687A, replace it with your model):

TAPE:::stape::::.*C5687A.*:::::::C5687A 40 GB DDS Data Compression Tape Drive (DAT40E):BR,DAT
