Samba Directory Permissions

I wish to stop users from changing the permissions of directories, and if possible stopping them from deleting the directories, when they are mounted onto there PC's

Any Ideas suggestions

You could try playing around with the "force security mode" parameter?

Hi Steve,

You need to ensure that the HP-UX user that a PC user is connected as does not have sufficient permissions to delete the directory. What permissions are the directories initially, where are they located?

I'd also be very wary if you are sharing out directories that are part of the OS.

Check the smb.conf man page for more info on "directory mask" and "force directory mode" for further info on tightening permissions via Samba.
