Samba domain security - migrate from nt network to windows2000

Our organization is migrating from a WindowsNT network to a Windows2000 (native) network. I am using the version of samba that is included with HP-UX 11. I am using domain security in samba to allow me to authenticate samba share users against the NT4 PDC. The windows model changes when moving from an NT4 network to a windows2000 network. We tried a test migration but could not get the domain authentication to work properly with the windows2000 server. I changed the password server, wins server, and the workgroup in the samba configuration file accordingly. I also, of course, joined the server to the new domain. The HP server is defined as a member server. samba log file reveals error: domain_client_validate: unable to validate password for user... Error was code 0. Do I need HP???s samba 2.2 to work with a windows2000 network? Is HP???s samba 2.2 released?
