Samba process smbd is not running

Hi,
I'm experiencing issue with samba service in SCO UNIX box.

Samba process smbd is not running. I tried to start manually but still fails.

nmbd is starting, but smbd is not.

Samba is installed under /usr/lib/samba

Any help on this issue is highly appreciated.

how do you tried to start manully ?

what is it says when try to run it? is it dies?
