Samba Server not responding
Hi all,
I have an T-Class server running HP-UX 10.20 with Samba version 2.2.3a
Suddenly the Samba Server is not responding for a while. After reboot, problem is clear. This type of problem occurs once for several months. During the problematic period I am getting some errors in the log file. Can someone interpret the error and help me to solve the problem.I am attaching the error log below.
Best regards,
Yongsik Yoon

Re: Samba Server not responding
Hi,
What is the output of this command ?
#ifconfig lo0
Check your configuration of loopback device and also ensure that you have a entry for localhost in /etc/hosts file with IP address 127.0.0.1.
regards,
U.SivaKumar

Re: Samba Server not responding
Your log shows a different version number than you declare in your post.
A look at smb.conf would help do.
Did someone upgrade this server while you were on vacation?
I'd like you to do this too.
/sbin/init.d/samba stop
/sbin/init.d/samba start
Inside the samba script, or whatever you needed it, direct the output to a file and upload it.
example
sambastart start > /tmp/sambadiag.file
