I know there is probably a better format for this question, but I thought I'd give it a shot here;
I am using Samba on one of my HP-UX boxes. The Windows NT clients use the Samba connected drives to move files from our development environment to our testing environment. It works pretty well, but all ASCII files end up with "^M" characters. These files are scripts and config files that get used on the UNIX server. In order to use them we have to run dos2ux.
Is there anyway to trasfer the files via Samba in ASCII mode?
Thanks,
David

Solution
As samba is defined currently, the answer is NO.
I have heard of a source patch that can make samba do the necessary conversion based on file extension. If you find it, it would require a full compile of samba of course.
