SAP executable not working on HP 9000 N4000 Server

Hi ,

Please if you can find a answer for the below query .

Server Type : HP 9000 NClass N4000 Server
O/S Type : HP-UX 11.00
Processor Speed : 440Mhz .
Memory : 4GB RAM
No.Of CPU : 4 CPU.

The executable " SAPOSCOL " works fine with the 32Bit Version. However with this version we are not able to utilize the entire Memory properly .Consequently the system becomes extremely slow .

The 64Bit version of " SAPOSCOL " doesnnot get excuted at all .The same Exe works perfectly fine on a L Class M/C .

Kindly suggest a solution for this .

- rwsr-xr-x 1 root sapsys 603752 DEC 20 1999 saposcol
Can You say what error have you or can you extend to me the error?

Fortunately I could come across the solution for this prob.

The prob . observed was as follows:

It was found that PCI Gigabit Ethernet card Driver was unfortunately trien to create prob. Once I removed the driver of Giganit card from kernel I found " SAPOSCOL " exe working fine .

Hi ,

Would it be possible for somebody to give me the solution for the above prob query .

Why it is happening that when I uninstall Gigabit sx Ethernet Card driver from kernel SAP exe " SAPOSCOL " is working fine .

It is found if I reinstall the Gigabit driver the same problem is found .

If i execute " SAPOSCOL " it will just hang without doing any process .

normally if it works it should give me a message like " creating a new process " .

Kindly help me in finding the solution for this .

It is highly likely that the SAP program is reading HP-UX kernel structures directly. HP-UX 11.0 changed internal structures dramatically to accomadate 32 and 64 bit code. If the SAP program did not use pstat calls but opted to poke around in the kernel, this may be the problem. Contact the program's author to see if it has ever been tested on 11.0/64 bit HP-UX.
