SAP front-end could not connect to the server after DNS is configured.

Hi,

Our users could not connect to the server after the DNS is configured to the UNIX server (SAP server). We are using HP-UX 11i.

We tried to connect to the server using the following: (but still we could not connect.)
a) hostname
b) hostname.domain.com
c) IP Address

The error is "hostname:port is not available" or "connection refused".


What do you think went wrong?

did you check the server port is LISTEN?

Hi,

In what server? Is it on the DNS server or the SAP server?

The ports and services in the SAP server (HP-UX) is already working before the DNS configuration was set.
