sar utility
I am thinking how sar can be used effectively. Was there any situation in your life as administrators where sar helped you to find out and fix the problem. Are there any customizable scripts on sar (I find it a little complex with lot of options)
Please pour in your experiences
cheers

Re: sar utility
As soon as I had "glance/measureware" available I quit using sar. For a lot of tips on using sar, vmstat, iostat, use those keywords on the search function to your left (no your other left):
search:
+iostat +vmstat +sar
Plus, I'd suggest getting "lsof" if you don't have it:

Re: sar utility
Also with performance data it is importante to know what normal data looks like. If you set up sa1 to log every day you will most likely have normal hours to compair with.
