we are also getting an onit:shared memory error when trying to bring an Informix Database Online during the boot process.

any help would be appreciated. I know I'll probably need to add more information, there's just so much I don't know where to start.

Hi Lisa,

Did Informix come up?

It may be shared memory access was effected by the patch.

Obviously if its a critical problem you need to consider backing out the patch.

The patch list looks tame enough.

What the site has done as a band-aid is boot to single user mode. THEN start the database, once the database has started they do an init4 to bring the system up to multi user mode.

This error was a direct result of the SA booting to single user mode, then starting the database (Informix) and then doing an INIT4 to bring it up to run level.
