we have just had an L class server delivered to our lab. I have installed HPUX 11.00 fine. the server has a dual scsi LVD card which I cannot get working. I get the following from an ioscan:
ext_bus 4 0/3/0/0 c8xx UNCLAIMED UNKNOWN PCI SCSI (10000021)
ext_bus 5 0/3/0/1 c8xx UNCLAIMED UNKNOWN PCI SCSI (10000021)
Im not sure of the exact model of card as there is nothing on the back of it, and I am unable to get inside the box to checkit until some one can help me get it back out of the rack.
Any Ideas?
Mark

Re: scsi card
You probably do not have the drivers for the card configured in the kernel and/or do not have loaded on your system. It may be as simple as adding a driver to the kernel - or it may mean downloading a driver from the resource center

SolutionThat card is relatively new for your system with 11.0 on it so it may be a patch problem or just needs adding in the kernel.
follow the details in this doc to check if the driver is there, and it it if needed through sam.
http://docs.hp.com/en/A6829-96002/ch03s04.html
Also make sure your patched upto date as can be, last bundles were march 2004. You need minimum mar 2002 HWE loaded.

Re: scsi card
It's good to get the feedback that the problem is resolved.
You may want to consider to 'close' the topic perhpas after assigning some 'points' to the folks who helped you so well.

Hein
