SCSI ID conflict....
I would install a cluster with 2 servers L3000 and 2 disk systems 2300.
I have 2 two LVD SCSI Adapter per server, so I would like connected :
1/ LVD SCSI Adater A Host 1 to BBC A disk system 1
2/ LVD SCSI Adater A Host 2 to BBC B disk system 1
and
3/ LVD SCSI Adater B Host 1 to BBC A disk system 2
4/ LVD SCSI Adater B Host 2 to BBC B disk system 2
With this kind of configuration the 14 disks of 2 disk systems could be reachable by the 2 servers.
When I connect 1/ and 4/ it's ok... but if I connect 2/ and/or 3/ I have a SCSI conflict....
When can I identify what is the SCSI ID for each Controller (LVD SCSI) ?
Thanks,

Re: SCSI ID conflict....
You can do this by stopping the boot process and use the SCSI command in the service menu.
The ioscan and the SCSI command from BCH will show you the configured ID for each controller.
Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.

Re: SCSI ID conflict....
Some HBA SCSI ID's are set via on-baord jumers or DIP switches and other can be set from the firmware monitor. You want to use the highest priority SCSI ID's for HBA's on the same bus so set them to 7,6, and 5 in that order.

Re: SCSI ID conflict....
The controller entry looks like this
ctl 0 1/0/0/3/0.7.0 sctl CLAIMED DEVICE Initiator
/dev/rscsi/c0t7d0
for ID 7.
Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.

Re: SCSI ID conflict....
ID 6
ctl 6 0/12/0/0.7.0 sctl CLAIMED DEVICE Initiator
/dev/rscsi/c6t7d0
ID 7
To make it easier, I would configure both controllers inside the box to same value, e.g.
server1 is using ID 6 on both controllers
server2 is using ID 7
Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.
