scsi_lun_open failed

I have a hp-ux system with hp 11.00.
The following alarm continuosly appear in the syslog:

sesdaemon:scsi_lun_open failed for b700f000

sesdaemon:scsi_lun_open failed for b701f000

Can someone explain to me what happen(and how to resolve it )?

Re: scsi_lun_open failed

Look in /dev/diag for devices with minor numbers 0x00f000 and 0x01f000 respectively. These are the devices causing the errors.

Re: scsi_lun_open failed

Shalom,

ioscan -fnCdisk

You probably have a couple bad ones. Perhaps a bad connector, perhaps a bad cable or scsi id or even a bad scsi card.

Re: scsi_lun_open failed

Stefano,

Some Googling returns that sesdaemon is a "Fibre Channel Drive Enclosure Status/Configuration daemon" primarily used under IRIX.

man available here:
