SD Packaging Quistion
Hi,
I am creating a package using "swpackage". During installation of this depot using "swinstall",i want to exit/abort swinstall itself on encountering errors in "preinstall". How can i do it ??
i.e. what should i write in the "preinstall" script to achive this ??

Hi Ramesh,
Why do not you change the preinstall script with a checkinstall script. This script is run in the analyse phase and if this fails you can abort the install.

All you need to do in the checkinstall/preinstall script is do an exit 1 if you discover an error - this will stop swinstall.
Im from Palmerston North, New Zealand, but somehow ended up in London...

Hi,
I had also found out that this works fine, if the error condition is put in "checkinstall".
So, replacing the "preinstall" script with "checkinstall" script is the "only" solution ??
