how you are going to segregate applications and systems for migrations.?

Most probably one can easily write a book on this subject but in short, you validate that an appliction you have will run on the new platform where you are going to migrate it to. Then determine the size of the machine(s) it will need to run on and purchase/lease them. Then build your application on your new servers. On the cutover day, have your DNS administrator change the ownership of the IP addresses belonging to old server names to your new server names, so that people hit the new servers when they refrence the application related server name.

As I said, your question is so open to interpretation, I am not sure how to answer it. This is one of the interpretations. I am sure there can be many more.
