sendmail 8.12 for hpux

does somebody know if sendmail 8.12 is soon available for hpux-11.x?

I was after the exact same information.

I know that HP support sendmail 8.11.01. And if enough customers ask for sendmail 8.12 they will support 8.12. So the only advice I can offer is to contact HP and say you want it and to join the list of customers demanding it.

Sounds like the same problems I have getting new BIND releases. What I've done to deal with this is to download GCC from HP's developer site (in easy to install depot format) and then download the source code for BIND and compile it myself. This would probably work well for sendmail also, but test it out on a test box first to so you aren't "suprised" by anything...

If you are looking for a depot there is no word from HP.

A few months ago, I contacted HP, Berlene Herren and got on a mailing list. I expressed my organizations concern that due to security vulnerabilities we wanted HP to get a little more out front on new sendmail releases.

The scoop is you can use sendmail 8.11 and patch it up based on Berlene's security notices in itrc and keep it secure.

You can also download the latest sendmail from http://www.sendmail.org and compile it. Its not that hard. I did it once in linux when I was bored.
