Have a question I could use some guidance on:
I have two apps that require 32 bit platforms right now. Currently we are running them on 10.20 with K-Class servers. My question is, can I run HP-UX 11 on a newer hardware platform and support these 32 bit apps? Which new platforms can I run 32 bit on?
Thanks!

Hi Shawn:
Yes, you can load either 32 or 64 bit OS in supported hardware platforms. Check this link for all supported server and OS:
http://devresource.hp.com/STK/serversupport.html
For workstations:

Re: Servers and 32 Bit
Shawn,
SOME 32bit applications will run on a 64bit OS, others will not. Most of mine did, but we're having development recompile and fix the applications to run on 64bit native.
You can not load a 32bit OS on any of the new HP servers, rp8400, rp74xx, and up. Use the guide Shiju provided for compatibility.
To run a 64bit OS on a K or D, you need to upgrade the FIRMWARE, which I usually have HP do this, that way if the system board fries, they are right there to get it replaced, saving countless hours.

Re: Servers and 32 Bit
Word of warning though - Some hardware may not work under later releases of HP-UX. For example EISA cards are supported under HP-UX 11.00 on my D370 but support was removed under HP-UX 11i (11.11) so my modem card became redundant.
I have also heard that some FC cards may not work on K class systems under 11i.
