Service Guard configuration after storage migration

We plan to change EMC storage and EMC will copy data from old storage to new storage.

We have two node MCSG for SAP. What will be a impact to this HA system.
What part of configuration do I need to change it to make it work on new storage? Is there anyway I can minimize MCSG configuration change?

Thanks

Re: Service Guard configuration after storage migration

Hi,

Your impact will be to the LVM part of your MC/SG cluster. You can minimize the impact if you use the same volume group(s), logical volume and filesystem mountpoints on the new storage as on the old. Your settings for these will be in the package control file.

Re: Service Guard configuration after storage migration

Hi,

Your device files may get changed. So you may need to do a vgexport and vgimport for all the VG's.

Other than the lvm related stuff, you should not have any other problems.

Hope this helps.

You will also need to re-apply the cluster configuration with a cmapplyconf on the cluster ascii as well as the packages.

Pay attention to the device file for your cluster lock.

Re: Service Guard configuration after storage migration

You must pay extra attention to the cluster lock disk. If you have errrors in the syslog about the cluster lock disk, after executing cmapplyconf -c clust.ascii, you can execute the script cminit.
