Re: service guard on two location's

Hi,

No this is not possible ( using MC/SG) servers that are a part of a cluster must be on a bridged network (same vlan) It is possible to configure multiple vlans on a cluster.
If you want this kind of security you need to conbfigure a metro cluster.

Re: service guard on two location's

all nodes in the same cluster must be on the same subnet, so the simple answer is no you canot do this.
Take a read of the Managing Serviceguard manual at:

Re: service guard on two location's

Hi Gideon,

This is not exactly what I mean.

We want to put 1 node on a other location. In the other location is a different ip subnet.
Is this possible with mc/sg?

Or must the ip range always be the same?

THANKS

Re: service guard on two location's

Like gideon already mentioned:
"on a bridged network (same vlan)"

This means in the same subnet, so diferent IP range is possible but the two ranges must be in the same subnet(0 hops, no gateway).

Mick -- Take a look at the documentation on MetroCluster and Continental Cluster:

These are high avaialbility producsts similar to MC/Serviceguard but designed for longer distances:
