Service Guard

Hello Guys, I completed my Service Guard training couple of years ago and got out of touch with HP-UX. I have two HP-UX servers (A380 and A370). Is there anyone who can help to find Service Guard software so I can practice in home.

Re: Service Guard

A370 & A380 sound like bogus model numbers to me. In any event, MC/SG can be found on any apoplications CD set but without codewords that isn't going to do you much good.
If it ain't broke, I can fix that.

Re: Service Guard

If you talk to your HP account rep, you might be able to get a temporary license.

Re: Service Guard

Thanks for Reply. Sorry they are D Class Servers. D370 and D380. Both are dual processors. I bought those when I was taking Unix Admin courses. I am even
Certified for HP-UX and SUN. But never had a chance to work for UNIX ADMIN position. So now I have all the material (books, systems and etc... want to practice for work purposes.
You are right MC/SG is on application CD but I have no CODEWORDS for MC/SG. Any Suggestion how I can that. Thanks

Re: Service Guard

These are purchaseable licensed products.
You will need to purchase them to be able to use them.

Re: Service Guard

I m not sure but I think one of the servers already have MC/SG installed on it. Is there a way to find a codeword from a OS ?

Thanks

Re: Service Guard

Well, I will go this far: The system "remembers" installed codewords by examining the text file /var/adm/sw/.codewords.
If it ain't broke, I can fix that.

Re: Service Guard

You are now asking for someone to violate the licensing agreement; only HP can sell you this product.

You are now asking for people to break copyright rules and break the Law!
I have edited the request, and also reported this to the relevant authorities
