Re: Setting up CDE server on 11
Well, 2 things, 1) I am workjing the bosses for approval of the hardware solution, this is getting to be a pain, and 2) i really don't see any changes in the internal network since the change from 10.2 to current. I have not tried to use the same suggestions to get the old server responding, so I don't know if that could be related or not. our change from an open hub type network to a switched network came while I was still able to access the old server, and the only firewall we have in place is for the outside, not the lan. I guess I should hang up my cleats and let the hardware do it for me.

Re: Setting up CDE server on 11
Hi Dave,
There seems to be a cennection problem with your DNS server.
Can't find server name for address 128.x.x.1: Non-existent domain
Verify the servers in the /etc/resolv.conf.

0 points please

Re: Setting up CDE server on 11
another wrinkle,
in attempting another x emulator (exceed) I get the specific message that I cannot connect to port 5500, how do I check the server for that port to be open?
thanks for hanging in there with me.
