several ignite questions
I've got an Ignite server set up (11.11, B.5.4.50) and have been able to do a few things with no problems. I have created golden images of a few systems and placed them on this server and have successfully build many systems from these images.
As of late, I have been trying to do fresh installs from the Ignite server of 11.11 and 11.00. I have used the make_depots command to copy the source cd(s) to the Ignite server. I have used the make_config command to create the configuration files (core_cfg) and add the appropriate entries to the INDEX file. I have also copied the latest GOLD patch bundles for 11.11 to the server (via make_depots) as well as a few other individual patches. I've run the make_config script after these changes as well and everything appears to be okay.
I'm having two different issues between building an 11.00 system and an 11.11 system. The 11.11 system lays down the OS and the GOLD patch bundle with no problems but it will not install the extra patches automatically. I am able to manually install these patches after the OS on the new system is up but I'd like to have it all done automatically done by Ignite.
The problem with the 11.00 system is much more serious. It goes through the process of laying down the OS, configures the kernel, and then reboots. When the system comes back up it makes it to the point of trying to load the kernel and then panics. The error that I recieve states only that there is a Software Failure. There are no errors in the install.log file or anything that even looks like a potential problem.
Any help with either of these problems would be greatly appreicated...the 11.00 situation is obviously more critical at this point.
Thanks...Chris

Re: several ignite questions
Before going any further, upgrade the Ignite.
The latest version available is 6.x
This version will work on 11.00 as well.

Re: several ignite questions
I just updated my ignite server to C.6.1.44 but the same problems remain. Will I need to redo my OS source depots?
