as of now i install a few at a time as needed ...but it would be great if i can just get a SD-UX bundle of most of them (like what is done for patches by means of a GOLDAPPS11i bundle)
it just would make installing those downloads for VIM, EMACS, etc... go smoother for me
i just rarely do any real programming and so when it comes time to software installs that are not commonly found in a *.depot format and require various dependencies that also have dependencies, then i have little experience to make my way around
any feedback would be appreciated, marc
FYI: also, does it matter much if i get, as an example, ncurses from gnu.org or from hpux.connect.org.uk

Re: simple way to get the main build/runtime dependencies
basically is there any package that contains most of the common dependencies (like libgcc, gettext, libiconc, ncurses, etc...) as one download?

Re: simple way to get the main build/runtime dependencies
i found the following on an old application CD from 2002 (1 of 4) with the following:
TechSysConf B.11.11.06 Technical System Configuration
yet going to software.hp.com i cannot find any reference to TechSysConf which is mention in the PDF file Robert listed
any tips on how to download this from the ITRC (i cannot wait for the 06/2006 CDs ...which i just order and will come weeks after i need to be done with my server configuration)

Re: simple way to get the main build/runtime dependencies
I've opened a thread recently about this issue. The ITRC community is considering building its own website to house legacy open source and other depots that HP has decided for various reasons not to support.
Internet Express at http://software.hp.com supports many of these old components but does not stock old versions. This is a problem because many shops such as mine have version requirements as part of complex integrations that we don't want to walk away from.
Now I maintain these archives on an NFS mount point.
HP appears to be considering either supporting that effort or creating an archive to make it unnecessary.
