We've yet to transition to 11.23 or 11.31 but do you think it' a good idea to already adopt SMH on 11.11?
Any experiences out there?
Also, where is it installed from? Is it freely downloadable?

And you will see that all you can do with 11iv1 SMH is Event Administration and nPar management. And you may be put off by the paindul number of components you have to update to get this working effectively on v1.
Better to put your efforts into getting to v3 (a much better experience all round IMHO).

Most features are
HP-UX 11i v2 and v3 only
or even
HP-UX 11i v3 only
IMHO the most useful feature for 11.11 is the graphical nPartition manager (it's almost the only feature for 11.11).
Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.

Re: SMH for HP-UX 11.11 - Any Experiences? Advisable?
I find SMH and its dependancies painful on any version and not worth the effort.
Who wants a gui/web interface for UNIX anyway ? ( cough, choke, hack )

Re: SMH for HP-UX 11.11 - Any Experiences? Advisable?
There are times when a GUI interface is necessary, such as to hand off user account administration to helpdesk staff or non-technical administrators in a security group.
This is such the case in my current company and previous companies.
The best way for this to happen is with a restricted SAM or now SMH.
