Re: SNMP

Arun,
thanks for the info, i have made the necesary changes to the files that start snmp. but that will only take effect if the system is rebooted, right?
i know that i need to stop the snmp. i did a grep of snmp and this is the result i got

oot@pacdctn2:/etc/rc.config.d> ps -ef | grep snmp*
root 1142 1 0 May 1 ? 0:10 /usr/sbin/snmpdm
root 4776 4447 0 13:35:02 ttyp1 0:00 grep snmp*

is it okay to go ahead and stop the pid 1142?

thanks in advance.

Re: SNMP

Be sure you get all the SNMP files in /etc/rc.config.d (there are 6 for 11i systems) and turn all the parameters to =0. Then you can safely kill any process that is has snmp in it's name (without rebooting). When you do reboot, no snmp processes will be started.
