Software distributor support question

Am I correct that Software Distributor has never been supported on Sun? I can find nothing indicating it has ever been supported on that platform

Re: Software distributor support question

SD is strictly an HP thing. It's not supported on any other platforms.

Sun's equivalent would be the software packages with the pkg* commands.

RH & Fedora linux uses rpm's.

Each unix version generally has it's own way to deal with software.

Re: Software distributor support question

Oddly enough, we do use it on our Sun servers successfully. It has worked perfectly in the past. However, we have 3 servers with >31 IP's configured. This has caused swagentd to not be able to start. I found this by testing another Sun server that was working fine... added IP's one by one. At IP address 32 swagentd will not start. Any ideas why?
