HI Admins,

I want osme details on Software package builder.I have downloaded it from ths software.hp.com . when try to run swpackage it returns the following .

Note the complete. The package phase succeeded.

It would be helpful to see the actual command you ran and have a statement about what kind of package you are trying to build.

Or you could read the man page again. I'm guessing here but think you need some options.

HI,

I want to install the Software package builder software on HPUX 11.23 downloaded from internet.
I ran the command
# /usr/sbin/swpackage -s /software/SwPkgBuilder_A.02.00.09.431_HP-UX_B.11.23_IA+PA.depot -d /var/adm/sw

After completing this command . I ran

# swreg -l depot /var/adm/sw

And finally when i try to run swinstall, it is saying only 50% percent complete.

I ran the command

If you want to install the depot, why use swpackage, just use swinstall.
If you want to copy the depot to another, use swcopy.

When i try to run swinstall and select the depot file SwPkgBuilder_A.02.00.09.431_HP-UX_B.11.23_IA+PA.depot.

It prompts that this is not depot file.

What was the issue.

What does file(1) say?

Try to regester the depot first, install it and copy it to the depot

swreg -l depot /software/SwPkgBuilder_A.02.00.09.431_HP-UX_B.11.23_IA+PA.depot

swinstall -s /software/SwPkgBuilder_A.02.00.09.431_HP-UX_B.11.23_IA+PA.depot \*

swcopy (I don't remember the exact syntax). If you just run swcopy, it opens interactive menu, where you can specify the target and source.

THERE SEEMS TO BE SOME ISSUE WITH LOCAL FTP TRANSFER.

I Did ftp again using bina transsfer and ran swinstall -s

Works fins.
