Software packages: pgp 7.1, conect direct and secure ransport file drive

some body of you know if is necesary install these products:
- pgp 7.1
- conect direct
- secure ransport file drive

with special user? i mean, with root?

Do you know where can i find information about the installation of each one of them?

What is necesary to install them?

hi,

1. connect direct, I have created user called cduser for doing cd related work. It is better. In case if application devl require that you can give. But you can't give root...!!

2. on pgp:www.pgp.com/products/

3. I dont have any idea on last one

well ...
the system in question, actually has a user named "patito" but this user is only to be used for a special person, is necesary to migrate the user, change the software for other user .. do you know if changing only permission it is posible other use execute pgp command? or it must necesary to make again the installation?

hi Man,

If it is a new installation you could have reinstall the whole thing. But if your server is already in use for sometime, why can't you give the user permission to execute this. Or add that user into that group.

In fact by changing permission for a directory may create problems.

I guess you need .profile only for executing that, if that is the case, create a test user, copy the .profile and other files from the "pitato"'s home and give a try. Who knows it may work..!!!

This is just a try only, just copy all files from "pitato"'s home.

Does the .profile different from other users, does it has any more information.

Also set the same shell in the /etc/passwd.

In one work, a replica of pitato = new user
