Solaris CDE vs. HP CDE
Cound anyone tell me the technical reason why
my GUI program which was compiled and run in an HP environment goes down when I tried to display it in a Solaris machine remotely? If there would be any supporting documents to explain this behavior, that would be greatly appreaciated. Thanks in advance!

Re: Solaris CDE vs. HP CDE
CDE and the Xserver are more or less the same on both platforms.
It would be useful to know :
a) what the applications is name & version
b) what it does and what it's written in or what API calls is uses eg motif, opengl etc ?
c) what errors it produces , core files ?
contents of /var/dt/Xerrors
$HOME/.dt/error.log
d) what the sympoms of going down are : never starts or appears and then crashes/core dumps ?
As to technical reasons I can think of a few :
fonts , patches , and s/w features aka bugs ;)
