Some information/help needed

Hi,

I am not very sure, whether this is right place
for this query. May be someone can help me in this.
Please let me know, if anyone has any details
about this. I do not known the exact HP contact
e-mail id for these queries,If someone could
guide or help it would be great.

If one knows an HP representative who could give these details , then you may forward the
below requirements to him and ask him to get in touch at dkotian1@rediffmail.com. I needed
the data quite quickly(in a day/two).
Or if someone has the details of hp, from
where I can source this data, it would be great ,if one could give it?

Here are my questions !!

1. What would be the Cost of hp-ux 11.i ?

2. Will we get the compiler (HP C(version A.03.26 or later),C++(version B.11.01.21 or later)) with O.S (hp-ux 11.i)?

3. If we buy just the Compiler (HP C(version A.03.26 or later), C++(version B.11.01.21 or later)) , can it be installed on for HPUX-11.0 and what is the cost?

4. Can we just get product manuals of these compilers (HP C(version A.03.26 or later), C++(version B.11.01.21 or later)) from net.

Thanks and Regards
Deepak

Re: Some information/help needed

1. If you have an existing HP server on HP support running any version of HP-UX then 11.i is free. You just need to request the CD's. If you dont have a current HP server on support then if you purchase a new HP server you will also get 11.i free.

2. No, you wont get a full HP ANSI C or C++ compiler with HP-Ux 11i. These are purchaseable products.

3. Yes, you can purchase either the full HP ANSI C or C++ compilers for HP-UX 11. Cost is dependant on what HP server you wish to install on, the bigger the server the more the cost. What server do you want to install it on ?

4. The manuals for these compilers are all on the net at www.docs.hp.com

If you have an existing HP server on HP support then you have an HP account manager assigned to you. Try to find out who it is - call HP and quote your support details and they will point you to the right person.

Re: Some information/help needed

Hi,

Thanks for a very good answer.
Time here is a constraint for me.

1. I thought the latest Compiler comes with
HP-UX 11.i new CD.
So, is that HP C(version A.03.26 or
later),C++(version B.11.01.21 or later))
is not in HP-UX 11.i CD.
2. To answer point 3, we are using HP-UX 11.O
OS : B.11.00A
Hardware model : 9000/800/R380
Can we get an compiler upgrade for this.

Is these answerable now,
a. Cost of HP-UX 11.i ?
b. Cost of Compiler
HP C(version A.03.26 or later),C++ (version B.11.01.21 or later))

Also, we had bought a Ansi- C compiler from HP for HP-UX 10.2.

Can we get an upgrade of HP C(version A.03.26 or later),C++(version B.11.01.21 or later))
on the same license ?
If this possible, this would be great and
probably the fastest.

I cannot call HP-UX U.S, because of time difference and some other reason !!

Thanks and Regards
Deepak

Re: Some information/help needed

1. I thought the latest Compiler comes with HP-UX 11.i new CD.

Yes it does. When you order HP-UX 11i (as a free upgrade for HP-UX 11 you have now - as long as your using HP support for your server now) it comes with a few CD's. One for the OS, and 3 Applicaiton CD's which contain the new versions of apps, including ANSI C and C++ for 11.i

2. To answer point 3, we are using HP-UX 11.O
OS : B.11.00A
Hardware model : 9000/800/R380
Can we get an compiler upgrade for this.
Also, we had bought a Ansi- C compiler from HP for HP-UX 10.20. Can we get an upgrade of HP C(version A.03.26 or later),C++(version B.11.01.21 or later)

Answer - Yes. You said you already have a full ANSI-C HP compiler you have purchased. If so then this entitles you to a free upgrade to the 11.i version when you update your OS. As long as the compiler is listed on your HP support contact. If youve kept it uptodate using your ITRC account then you can simply download from free right off the ITRC the new version of ANSI-C for 11i. Thats how we get new versions of all our purchased applications. Keep your HP support contact uptodate and the rest is easy.
