Some problem

Event data from monitor:

Event Time..........: Fri Apr 11 08:10:16 2008
Severity............: CRITICAL
Monitor.............: dm_memory
Event #.............: 3300
System..............: psdb1s.rxt.intev.com

Summary:
Memory Event Type : Single bit error (SBE) event. A correctable single
bit error has been detected and logged.

Description of Error:

The memory component:

Cab/Cell or Node: 0
MC/EXT: 0
DIMM: 2b

is experiencing an excessive number of single bit errors (SBE) at the
same address and same component. Since the page has not been
deallocated and is still active, this indicates the address is located
in kernel or reserved memory.

I am having a HP UX server running Remedy. I have received this event id. Can anyone tell what this all abt and what should i check and see. Afraid it says it critical.

Points points points...

Thanks
gV

Re: Some problem

First of all you should check if your diagnostics version is current!

the diags are trying to reserve this area and test it, but it cannot do this because it is allocated.

Update the diags, allow the system to reboot
and watch the logs if the event remains.

Hope this helps!
