Sounds on HP
Hi Friends,
My name is Patricia Correa, I work for DirecTV in Colombia. We have here 2 HP
Servers, model K220, with HP-UX 10.20. I would like to know if there is any way
to reproduce sounds on HP, like you do on windows. I am tring to implement some
audible alerts so the operator could hear the sounds and rapidly could know
that something is going on.
How could I do that ?
What do I need in my HP server ?
Bye
Thanks

Re: Sounds on HP
As far as I'm aware standard .wav and .au files certainly can be played under
an HP_UX enviroment :
consult the audio man page for more information, also relevant are man aserver
& also man send_sound.
I'd start looking under the Audio Dev Kit or the M-Power product bundles for
further info, hope this helps ?

Re: Sounds on HP
Do you have installed audio support in your server ?,
run ioscan -f|grep audio.
HP-UX support audio standards
like .al, .au, .u, .snd, .wav (Windows standard) and
so on. If you like, explore your audio support software located on
/opt/audio/bin.
