what version of bind
I'm new to Bind on HPUX, I was wondering what version I am running on a 10.20
system, how do I find out?
Is the process of updating to a newer version of bind difficult/worth the
trouble?
Thanks much
Erik

Re: what version of bind
As named and bind are inter-related, do:
what /usr/sbin/named
This will give you the version of named/bind you have.
Upgrading is as simple as loading the latest BIND4.9.7 named cumulative patch:
PHNE_14617

Re: what version of bind
When applying patch PHNE_14617, do I have to manipulate any of the db files or
any other configuration? Does the patch automatically discover and recognize
my current config?
Thanks much,
Erik

The patch has a text file, which has special instructions at the end of the
text. This points you to
a further text file which has more information.
