Re: space required for oracle 9i in HP-UX 11.11
Space requirements, kernel parameters and other critical information is available here:
http://technet.oracle.com
http://metalink.oracle.com (ID/Service contract required).
I recall easily installing the binaries in a 4 GB filesystem a few years ago.

Re: space required for oracle 9i in HP-UX 11.11
with Oracle Metalink, refer to Doc ID: 169706.1.
For 9.2.0 and 9.0.1, 4.5GB and 3.5GB is required respectively.
there r patches and kernel parameters to take care of.
regards.

Re: space required for oracle 9i in HP-UX 11.11
please check the readme file inside the installation cd/dvd.
it will indicate the amount of disk space that you would require to install the Oracle software. Of course, this exclude the amount of space you will be using for your own data
hope this helps!
kind regards

Re: space required for oracle 9i in HP-UX 11.11
install as now there is quite a wide choice.
In any case my experience is that you need quite a reasonable /tmp during the installation.
If it is still part of / then you are
advised to make it a seperate filesystem
of say 250MB or 300MB if you can spare it.
Also why not use the Installer to determine
the space you need , because when you start the installer, you can select the product you want and let the installer show you what the space requirements are. They will show up in red. It won't affect your system in anyway !!!
It is advised to always add at least another 150MB-250MB safety margin to the miniumum
don't try to cut it to thin.

Frank
