Specialized text report formatting for print

We are in the midst of changing the process of how we generate (print) reports gleaned from Oracle, via SQL+.
Q: Are there any hp-ux tools available that are comparable to "Oracle Reports".
The requirement is to take the SQL+ output, perform special text formatting, (alignment, bold, fonts, shading etc.) and print.
I think it could be accomplished with a combo of nroff, troff, man, adjust etc., but I'm not sure.
