spmgr and ioscan hangs on HP-UX 11.23

Hi

'spmgr display' command line shows LUN device files in EVA. But in my box, that command hungs (never finishes) though I can kill it.

Then, I decided to restart 'spagent' but it cannot be killed by kill command.

I run 'ioscan -fn' but it doesn't finish too (but can be killed).

The only action is rebooting my box.

Have you found this behaviour before ?
Is there a patch for this problem ?

Is there any Zoning Configured???If its there pls check the zone Configuration.

Check the FC Cables.Try by seeing the Luns path by path.Check the Controller one by one...


But As for now there is no patches related to this .Can you tell us which Model EVA you are working

Pls check the patch level of ur systema and check for the latest patches are installed for ioscan or not??
It may be an issue because of ioscan patch.

What is the version of SecurePath Manager & OS..??. Have you gone through the Rls. note of Secure Path Manager. Becuase, there are lots of Min. requirements.

Have u checked the PDC version..? Is it compatible with your Secure Path version..?

If there is no compatibility issues, first try to isolate the problem. Remove the FC cables fromt the system & run "ioscan" and checkt the status. If it's works fine, we can suspect the problem in the SP & storage side.

Is there an other hosts connected to the EVA..? if it's so, is other systems are working fine..??? Pls get back with the details.

Other boxes are attached to the same EVA and they have no problem.

I finally got ioscan to run. The system is running out of memory and paging. This may be the cause.

But spagent still haven't died. I'll reboot my box.
