It sounds like you are talking about different macro configuration lines in the sendmail.cf file.
Have a read through the sendmail and sendmail.cf man pages and see if that answers your questions.

Solution
Hello,
Cw -> file to get alternate names for the host
Fw -> file used to get the local additions to
class {w} (local host names)
DS -> smart relay host
DM -> who the host masquerades as
CE -> Masquerading will not occur for the root
by default; CE option can change it
