Still can't change default /home in SAM

Thanks for the earlier responses with regards to /etc/default/useradd.

We still have the problem. It appears that some of our servers are already defaulting to /users for the home directories of new users, yet under 'useradd' the HOMEDIR is reported as /home and no template has been created under SAM.

Does anyone have any idea how this is happening? Is SAM somehow remembering the previous entry default?
It's a laugh - innit?!?!?

David:

SAM stores user account template information in the /var/sam/ug/templates/ directory. Check there too.

There are the -d and -b options to the useradd program. These switches will tell useradd to place the directories.

Re: Still can't change default /home in SAM

Hi,

File /var/sam/ug/templates/nts contains
at least 1 sample User template.

You may edit this with vi but then you'll
have to select the template in 'sam'.

If you don't select any template, the default dialog window will open.

Each time you start sam and want to add users, you'll have to select the template.
