how do you purge the activity_log under
/var/stm/logs/sys

You can rename the activity_log file, but before you do that .. follow this procedure ..

A) Stop STM
# xstm
.. do File->Administration->STM Shutdown
B) Now rename activity_log file to say activity_log.old
C) Start STM
.. still in xstm
.. do File->Administration->STM Startup

Hi,

Before deleting/moving the log files, make sure that you are not missing any important messages from it. STM always logs any errors, messages and warnings to the log files.

You need to stop and start the stm daemons while doing this. Also if the log file fills up very frequently, take a look at the cause of the problem. If there is nothing important, then you may rename/remove them.
