Hi all,
I need assistance with a boot up error I am getting on one of my systems which contains the following information.
*****STREAMS/UX*****
(A current timestamp)
Subsys: STREAMS Loc:00123
DL_UDERROR_IND, dl_test_addr_length 8 dl_errno 4
********************
Can anyone shed some light on this error and how to fix it? Also, any STREAMS documentation would be very helpful.
Thank you,
Kel

Re: STREAMS/UX question
Hi Kelli,
Looks like your kernel is corrupted. Can you try and boot using the alternate kernel. Interrupt the boot process and then boot using the backup kernel.
This is the procedure,
Interrupt the boot process and at the boot prompt type
bo P0
say yes to interact with the IPL. It will get you the ipl prompt. Type at ipl prompt,
IPL>hpux (;0)/stand/vmunix.prev
If this boots okay, try to rebuild the kernel and then reboot. Remeber to keep a copy of vmunix.prev before you rebuild the kernel, since the rebuild will copy the current vmunix file in /stand to vmunix.prev
If this does not solve your problem, mention your hardware model type and the hp ux version.
Hope this helps.

Re: STREAMS/UX question
OK I'll look into the kernel.
I have found some documentation on streams and will look into that as well.
POints (or more questions) to follow.
Thanks,
Kel

Solution
Hi Kelli,
Look like this error is generated by the lan card. You might consider installing this patch if the same is required on your system,
http://us-support2.external.hp.com/wpsl/bin/doc.pl/screen=wpslDisplayPatch/sid=8f39f03510d17d2e25?PACH_NAM=PHNE_24413&HW=s800&OS=11.00
This patch is for 11.0 and needs a reboot.
hope this helps.
