The 11.0 OS installation is successful and now the system is requesting for the Support Plus cd to install. We have support plus bundes in a depot residing on one of our server. So I am planning to perfom this operation via network.
Here are the depot details:
/tmp/support_plus/HWE1100.depot
/tmp/support_plus/OnlineDiag_11.00.depot
/tmp/support_plus/QPK1100_11.00.depot
/tmp/support_plus/XSWGR1100_11.00.depot
/tmp/support_plus/B9073AA_B.05.00_HP-UX_B.11.00_32+64.depot
Now the question are, in which order do I have to install the bundles? Are there any bundles which I have to skip? Do I have to install any of the above bundles after installing the Application software?
I really appreciate your response.
Thanks,
Nikee

Re: Support Plus bundles Installation
Install your Application software and then your CPU iCOD (B9073AA), Online Diagnostics, HWE and QPK bundles. The XSWGR1100 bundle is an old patch bundle, superceded by the HWE+QPK.
In all cases, load your patches with the '-x patch_match_target=true' option to 'swinstall'.
You might consider copying (with 'swcopy') all of these depots into one master depot so that you can install and reboot once.
Regards!

Re: Support Plus bundles Installation
I install the QPK1100 and the HWE1100. You definitely would want the QPK, I would say HWE is optional. (It is the Hardware enablement pack. If you choose not to install, you may find issues in a year when you plug some new device into your server and would be forced to do the patches then... It's up to you.) I also install the OnlineDiag bundle. It contains software that may or may not be useful to you. For example, it contains a tool called Sup-Tool-Mgr (Support Tools Manager) and EMS (Event Monitoring Service) I find the STM stuff very useful at times...
Hope it helps.

Re: Support Plus bundles Installation
The order is not important but I would like to go for the Application software first since the other bundles which check for the currently installed softwares on the system and install the Patch bundles accordingly.
