Hi Rajesh

Please check the value of swapmem_on in Kernel parameter.

Re: swap space is not getting used

Little more explanation on the above.

System will use the swap space only when "swapmem_on" value is set to 1.

Re: swap space is not getting used

Shalom,

Where is the bottleneck?
http://www.hpux.ws/?p=6

Definitely a good idea to take a look that swap is enabled, but it should be by default.

If nothing big is running on the system swap will not be allocated.

Swap is reserved at process run time.

When its used, thats called paging and is almost always a bad thing.

If everything is enabled, load a few big applications, even a browser will do and see what happens to your output.

Re: swap space is not getting used

Please cut & paste and attach the result of "swapinfo -tam". (Your jpeg can't be manipulated and is fuzzy too.)

-tam (-t) gives you a nice total you can look at.

>swap space is not using the physical memory is using 98% then also swap is free.

Everything is fine. You do not want swap to be used.

>so that some memory bottleneck problem is coming.

If you don't have it now, everything is fine.

>DK: Please check the value of swapmem_on in Kernel parameter.

Since swapinfo showed "memory", it's on.

Re: swap space is not getting used

Hi Rajesh:

You don't have any problem of memory. Your system use physycal memory becasue her don't need more memory
