Re: Swicth GUI to command in hp-ux
Are you referring to CDE and if you are, do you want to disable CDE?
Have a look at the dtconfig manual.

Re: Swicth GUI to command in hp-ux
# /usr/dt/bin/dtconfig -d
to disable auto-start of desktop(CDE)on subsequent re-boots
# /usr/dt/bin/dtconfig -kill
to halt current desktop login process
# /usr/dt/bin/dtconfig -e
to enable auto-start after a reboot

Re: Swicth GUI to command in hp-ux
The problem is currently i don't have CLI mode to do anything in there. That is issue what I have. Is there any keyboard keys to switch to CLI mode like Linux?

Re: Swicth GUI to command in hp-ux
I was able to boot it into CLI mode(init 3) mode via Single user mode. Now we can work in CLI mode. Now I need to find out why CPE doesn't load properly.Could you please assist me on this too?
Regards
Niru

Re: Swicth GUI to command in hp-ux
there are several things u have to check first. look at the /etc/X11/XF86config file.
read the logs in $HOME_DIRECTORY.dt/errorlog and $HOME_DIRECTORY.dt/startlog
ps -ef | grep dt to make sure the dtlogin service is running.
It looks like ur CDE is running with missing components. After all these check run /usr/dt/bin/dtsession or /usr/dt/bin/Xsession and tell us what happens.
