I downloaded the software depot for python-2.1.1 and per the swinstall it will install it in /usr/local/bin. I would like to install it in /opt/python. Is there a way I can change the target installation path?
Thanks,
..Joe

Re: swinstall a depot
For mroeinfo.
http://software.hp.com/SD_AT_HP/
-t target_file Read the list of target_selections from target_file instead of (or in addition to) the command line.
I think the -t option is your best bet.
You might need this
create_target_path=true
or this
distribution_target_directory=/var/spool/sw
